Eilat Evening

Posted on June 10, 2022June 10, 2022 by Keryn Ross

Our last evening in Eilat was beautiful. We read the Book of Ruth (discussing gleaning and marriage customs and city gates), I taught Hebs how to cook French toast on a stovetop, and a few of us drove down to Dekel Beach at sunset to wander around on the shoreline. Although it was still 95 degrees, with the sun down behind the western mountains, it felt cool and marvelous.

Hebs learning to make French Toast.
Yummy and the amazing disappearing leg.
The Gulf of Aqaba, with Jordan in the distance and Saudi Arabia in the far right distance.
Yummy and Mom, enjoying the waves
Sunset on the Red Sea
Yummy’s sand castle–achievement unlocked! It is, apparently, a university, named after me, with a volcanology department, an oceanography department, and an astronomy department. I think. 🙂 She had so much fun building it!
Talking about the Dead Sea Scrolls, waiting for mom to stop sorting through the sand and rocks for pretty things.
It’s hard to believe we are really here.
